Did you know you could make money online just by selling your photos on stock image sites? You don’t have to be a professional photographer. You don’t have to have any training. You don’t need anything other then a point and shoot. And the pictures don’t even need to be too good because art is personal and even if you don’t like it, someone else just might!
Stock images are photographs, illustrations and film that are sold to consumers. Many of these photos are bought by companies and used commercially. They can include pictures of your dog Barney or a large silver balloon like spacecraft as it sails over your house.

So how do you sell your artwork online? It depends on the online site you work with. But, basically, there are a few simple steps. First, you join the site, check out what’s already selling so you have an idea of what pictures are currently popular. Before you upload your images you can learn, from a tutorial that some sites provide, how to make your photos more appealing to buyers and how to position them higher in the search results. These include resolution, assigning titles and categories and descriptions, choosing keywords, using watermarks, and setting prices. Then you upload your images. Next you set your own price. There are a couple other technicalities but that’s the gist.
If you like to take pictures and want to earn an extra buck or two you have nothing to lose. It’s a fun way to make some extra dough.
