Filing An Accident Claim
An accident claim is filed after you have been in a car accident, hurt on the job, or any time you have been injured in a place that insurance may cover the bill. The accident claim is filed with your insurance company, or the insurance company of the party at fault. The purpose of the accident claim is to compensate you for the expenses that were incurred as a result of the accident. These expenses usually include (and there are a ton of other types of damages) medical expenses, lost wages, pain, suffering, and the cost to get your car back on the road. You will not always get the amount that you ask for, the insurance company has a team of strong negotiators on their side to reduce that amount and save them a bit of money.
